There's no season like Spring, some old-fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat.
We have held some fantastic events over the past few months, including our Senior Leader Dinners in Brisbane, Sydney and Newcastle, however the main event for the season was of course the annual SIRF National Forum which was held in Melbourne this year.
With such an exciting quarter it will be hard to beat. Keep your eyes on our calendars to make sure you don't miss out on our upcoming events.

QLD OERt CIWG | A Process Safety Culture Through BI
AtCS Energyin July we were very fortunate to gain a deep insight into the differences between ‘Process safety’ and ‘Personal safety’ and how to apply Business Improvement tools in this area.
Rajesh Kulkarni,Head of Business Improvement andNgaire Moran, Operational Excellence Specialist, shared their journey and instigated considerable conversation and shared experiences among the attendees.
Their passion for putting people first and applying a clear and no-nonsense methodology shone through and was evidenced by dynamic and effective action boards throughout their offices. I cannot thank them enough for affording us an insight into their systems and office ‘gemba’.
Another great SIRF event with great networking and knowledge exchange that I am sure will lead to safer workplaces within our membership base.

NSW OERt Masterclass | SCRUM - An Agile Framework for your Business
We had an exciting masterclass presented byAustralian Scrum Pioneer;Mr Rowan BunningfromScrum with Style.
Rowan guided us through the origins of scrum, scrum and agile, complexity, scrum vs waterfall, scrum framework, PDCA in scrum etc.
This was a fascinating and detailed overview of what scrum is and does and it left us all wanting to find out more and investigate deeply.
Rowan provided information for us to follow up on and I could see how many businesses would benefit from the adoption of this methodology.
We thankZip Industries for hostingthe event. Zip started using the Scrum methodology around 7 months ago and they shared their experiences around their implementation and during the site tour showed us their real-world application of Scrum. They have achieved great results in a short time and appreciated having access to Rowan during the event.
Another great event by SIRF as we continue to facilitate the sharing of knowledge with our members.

QLD Senior Leaders Dinner
July saw us host our QLD Senior Leader's Dinner at the Brisbane Golf Club and it turned out to be real a mind-expanding event! With guest speakerDiane Harner, Managing DirectorofCleverMinds Consultingstretching our brains on the importance of Deliberate Leadership. There were too many ‘A-Ha’ moments to mention but I am sure that we will never forget our super-market bags again!
It is always great to have such a large turnout with high company representation where long-term friends and business associates shared wine and great food with our newer members.
These events provide an incredible networking opportunity for leaders, with the added bonus of learning new insights along the way.
