Safety Initiatives Roundtable
Great people in great organisations are doing great things around safety. Are you one of them?
Of all the processes, systems, strategies, and actions performed during our daily attendance at work there is one thing that should, does, and must always be considered …. Safety
Safety (or lack of) effects everyone and everything, everywhere. It needs constant attention and relentless improvement.
- Its enemies are complacency and ignorance.
- It must be able to adapt to an ever changing workplace environment.
- Its excellence should be a never-ending pursuit, and everyone must play a part.
- It should be weaved into the cultural fabric of every organisation.
- It is a topic that should be continually discussed, learnings shared, and achievements celebrated.
Which is what brought SIRF NSW members together last week for our Safety Initiatives Roundtable event.
Representatives from Lion, Ingredion and Molycop shared their insights on the safety initiatives that are driving improved performance in their businesses
Matthew Wilkinson at Ingredion spoke about their Hand Safety Awareness campaign and overarching global safety risk assessment strategy and how they have engaged their workforce in this program.
Sasha Abram at Lion discussed their Personal Wellbeing program “BEST M.E” within their “Everyone safe Everyday”, initiative.
Drew McIntyre at Molycop, walked us through the development and production of their award-winning Crane Safety video which was made with the involvement of employees and their families.
These insights along with the roundtable discussions made for a great day of sharing expertise, challenges and knowledge. Thanks to all!
