At the beginning of May, SIRF members had the opportunity to visit Thales Lithgow Arms and experience their Lean journey to date. This is the third time we have had the pleasure to visit, our first was in 2013.
It has been great to see their transformation over that time. In a world where the road to lean transformations is littered with organisations that have failed, it is a testament to the people that work there.
The take aways for the group were not only seeing well-crafted lean tools in action, but also an understanding of the fundamental lean vision developed by the site leaders. Without which such a cultural change would have failed years ago!
Many thanks to David Forbes and Bruce Hutton for allowing us to visit on what was a hectic day for the site!
